On November 8, 2019, the Confucius Institute at the University of Havana held the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the "China Pavilion". Dr. Dra.C. Miriam Nicado Garcia, the president of the University of Havana, Ding Wenzheng, an official from the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Cuba, and over 100 teachers and students from Chinese communities in Cuba and the Confucius Institute attended.
