The Publishing Group organized a visit to the 30th Beijing International Book Fair
China Science and Technology Publishing Media Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Group) organized its staff to visit the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (hereinafter referred to as BIBF) at the National Convention Center on the morning of June 19.
The Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), organized by the National Press and Publication Administration and other ministries, and hosted by China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Corporation, is the world's second-largest book fair and China's most internationally influential book exhibition platform. This year's BIBF, themed "Deepening Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning for a Win-Win Future through Cooperation", features a collective presence of multiple subsidiaries under the Group, including China Science Publishing & Media Group and Hope Electronic Press. This occasion fully demonstrates the Group's commitment to fulfilling its mission as the "national team" in scientific publishing. Meanwhile, the Group leverages the international platform of BIBF to advance copyright trading, promote international cooperation and exchanges, and continuously highlight and enhance its core competitiveness, industry leadership, and international communication capabilities in the field of scientific publishing.
Zhang Fang, Secretary of the Group Discipline Inspection Commission and Chairman of the Trade Union, led a delegation to visit the group's exhibition booth, where they interacted with staff and personally experienced the scientific and cultural charm of hundreds of key books and high-quality periodicals. Through the displayed publications, everyone gained further insight into scientists who have made brilliant contributions to China's scientific development history, including Hua Luogeng, Qian Xuesen, Chen Jingrun, Tu Youyou, and Yuan Longping. Most of their significant research achievements were published through Science Press's books and journals, providing a deeper understanding of Science Press as "the publisher of scientists."
After the visit, everyone attended a book sharing session on the "Outline of Science and Technology History of the People's Republic of China". Zhang Jiuchen, a researcher at the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared the compilation and publication process of the "Outline of Science and Technology History of the People's Republic of China", a project funded by the National Publication Fund. The two-volume book comprehensively reviews the development of science and technology in New China, summarizing the formation history and significance of major scientific and technological achievements over the past 70 years. Through learning and discussion, participants gained insights into the development journey, key events, development stages, policy changes, and technological achievements of China's science and technology sector since the founding of New China, especially after the reform and opening up. They explored the internal driving forces and development patterns that propelled China's scientific and technological progress, while enhancing their sense of pride and mission in China's rapid scientific and technological advancement and the "Chinese miracle" created in economic and social development.
This event has enriched the cultural life of our group's employees and further strengthened our understanding of shareholding enterprises. Through visits and exchanges, everyone deeply feels that, as the "national team" of scientific and technological publishing, we shoulder great responsibilities. Only through joint efforts can we continuously contribute more to promoting the group's high-quality development.
